What I thought: 11/02/2006 What’s to like? Good bottle of wine. Very smooth on the tongue yet still bold enough to say, “I’m a Cab.” You can serve this with confidence at any type of meal from Italian salads to heavy red meat. (I only get the rare hunk of steak when my wife is out of town.) Rich taste without being overpowering. Good stuff. If you have a decanter, use it for practical (let it air) as well as coolness. Ok, I know this one is over ten bucks but come on, $16 is still not crazy! Of course, on the Net I found it MUCH CHEAPER! So it still qualifies as a “tenner”! Though I got ripped.

“Brilliant ruby-violet color. This vintage of Coastal Cabernet Sauvignon promises much, and delivers! The aromas are redolent of black plum and dark cherry, with licorice and dark chocolate overtones. On the palate the wine is weighty yet supple, with loads of ripe berry flavors and hints of dark chocolate, black pepper and dried herbs like anise. Medium-full in body, it finishes with some spicy vanilla-oak and moderate tannins.
